The current project started in April 2011 and will run through October 2012 and is funded by a Surface Water Assessment Grant through the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency.  This project includes a water chemistry assessment of the upper reaches of the Minnesota River headwaters which includes the main stem of the river, five main tributaries (Meadowbrook Creek, Salmonsen Creek, Fish Creek, Hoss Creek, Little Minnesota River and Stoney Run Creek), and one flowage lake, Long Tom Lake.  The data gathered during thie project will provide useful information for identifying lake and stream impairments for future TMDL projects.
